Strictly necessary

These keep you logged in, hold your bet slip between pages, protect against cross-site request forgery, and remember your cookie choice. They cannot be switched off without breaking the account, and they carry no advertising value to anybody.

Security and fraud

A small set of cookies helps us recognise a device we have seen before. That is how we spot an account being accessed from somewhere it has never been accessed from, and how we enforce a self-exclusion against somebody trying to open a second account.

Aggregated measurement of which pages are used and where people get stuck. The data is aggregated before we see it and is not used to target anything at you. Decline these and the site behaves identically.

What we do not set

• No social media tracking pixels.
• No cross-site profiling, and no sharing of your browsing with data brokers.
