BetStop: the national register

BetStop is the National Self-Exclusion Register, provided free by the Australian Government. One registration excludes you from every licensed online and telephone wagering provider in Australia simultaneously. While your registration is active, no provider may open an account in your name, accept a bet from you, or send you marketing material.

You choose the length, from a minimum of three months up to a lifetime exclusion. A registration cannot be shortened or cancelled once it has started, and at the end of the period it does not lapse automatically. You must actively choose to end it, and a further waiting period applies after that. Register at betstop.gov.au.

Excluding from PiklBet only

If you would rather exclude from us alone, you can. It is in your account settings, or you can email support and ask. We do not require a reason and we will not ask for one. The exclusion takes effect immediately, any balance is returned to a verified account in your name, and all marketing stops permanently.

What we do once you exclude

• The account is closed to betting and deposits straight away.
• Every marketing channel is switched off permanently, not paused.
• We block attempts to open a new account using your details, and check new applications against exclusion records.
• We will not contact you with a retention offer, a survey, or an invitation to return.
• Your exclusion record is retained for as long as is needed to give the exclusion effect.

Take a break

If a permanent step feels like too much, a take-a-break period locks the account for a length you choose. It cannot be lifted early. That is the point of it, and it can be extended. Plenty of people use a break first and decide later whether it needs to become permanent.

Coming back

An exclusion on responsible gambling grounds is not reversed on request. Where a fixed period has ended and you ask to return, a waiting period and a review apply first, and if we are not comfortable, we will decline. That is deliberate.
